Content Policy & Community Guidelines

The Feminist Files exists to file feminist arguments, experiences, and resources — so "that's just how it is" can be answered. We welcome strong opinions and constructive criticism of ideas. We do not welcome attacks on people.

• Personal narratives, field notes, and long-form essays on feminist issues.
• Discussion of workplace, college, home, law, safety, health, and culture.
• Disagreement, challenge, and debate — aimed at arguments, not people.

• Hate speech or bigotry of any kind.
• Harassment, bullying, or threats — including in "jokes."
• Doxxing or sharing anyone's private information without consent.
• Sexual content involving minors, or unsolicited explicit content.
• Spam, advertising, or farming engagement.
• Content that incites violence or endangers someone's safety.

Use the report button on any post, article, or comment and tell us why. Reports go straight to the editorial moderation queue and are reviewed by a human.

Depending on the violation, editors may hide content, lock discussions, remove content entirely, or disqualify competition entries. Repeat or serious violations may result in permanent removal of content.
