Privacy Policy

The Feminist Files is an anonymous publication and discussion space. You can read, post, comment, and submit articles without creating an account. We deliberately collect as little as possible about you, and we never sell or share personal data.

• Content you publish. Posts, comments, articles, and reports are stored in our database. They are public by design — anyone can read them.
• A guest identifier. To make likes and image uploads work without accounts, your browser stores a randomly generated guest ID in local storage. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.
• Contact email (article submissions only). When you submit an article, we ask for an email so we can reach you about publishing, certificates, and the monthly competition. It is visible only to the editors and is never shown publicly.
• Anonymous analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless services that give us aggregate page-view counts.

• No accounts, sign-ups, or passwords for readers.
• No phone numbers, IP-based tracking, or third-party advertising cookies.
• No cross-site tracking or selling of data.

Content is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), which may process data in the United States and other Google infrastructure locations. The site itself is hosted on Vercel. As an India-focused publication, we aim to align with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) in spirit: minimal collection, clear purpose, and no data selling.

Because posts are anonymous, we cannot tie them back to you after the fact. If you included identifying details and want something removed, contact us with the link and we will take it down as soon as possible.
